depuis quelque jours tous fonctionne avec mon vcloud director , j'ai ajouter des vDC des pool réseaux .... après un redémarrage de la machine VC j'ai essayer d'accéder au vcloud ( https://@ipvcloud/cloud ) mais j'affronte IMPOSSIBLE D'ACCEDER A LA PAGE alors que l'accès par le port 5480 fonctionne .

j'ai installer une vcenter appliance , lors du moment ou je veux accéder par Vsphere-client il m'affiche un msg d'erreur : vsphere client n'a pas pu se connecter à "@IPvcenter" le serveur a mis trop de temps pour répandre . alors que l'accès a mon ESXi marche tres bien sans aucun problème par la meme machine client , ah oui mm le vsphere web client ne marche pas !!
NB : La DB et le SSO sont bien configuerer .
A few weeks ago, my VCenter Server had a snapshot that was so large that it corrupted my VM while trying to remove it. I decided I could just reload the VM as it was only Virtual Center Server. However, I wanted to save one drive as it had some important information. I copied the vmdk to another datastore and reloaded my VM. Then I tried to access the saved VMDK by adding it as a new hard drive. This fails with error: Failed to Lock the file myfile.vmdk Cannot open the disk myfile.vmdk or one of the snapshot disks it depends on.
My server is on a closed network and I am unable to attach the log files.
I tired searching the net but have been unable to find a solution.

I have created a 'VM and Template' Folder under Datacenter1. So my hierarchy looks like this:
VCenter
---Datacenter1
------VM Templates
---------myvmtemplate
However I want to create a folder and move the template to it as follows:
VCenter
---Datacenter1
------VM Templates
---MyFolder
------myvmtemplate
When I try to move the template I see the following structure available:
Datacenter1
---VM Folders
I do not see folder VCenter/MyFolder
I am sure it is there, but for some reason, the move screen in vCenter is not able to see any folder directly under VCenter.
Any help is much appreciated.

I am performing operations on VM for removing and adding HardDisk using ReconfigureVM which is provided in Vcentre SDK kit.
I have scenario where
1. I have harddisk attached to different SCSI controller Virtual device ID
2. I remove harddisk same name HD8 from VM using ReconfigureVM which was configured to SCSI controller 3 Virtual device node 3:5
3. When i try to add the Harddisk HD8 to same VM again using ReconfigureVM method exposed in VCentre SDK kit , i want to add the harddisk to same SCSI controller Virtual device node.
How do i fetch the Virtual device node and SCSI contoller information for the harddisk given i have VMDK full path and Datastore name.

whenever I connect vcenter server then every time I have to select every column before exporting data. Please find the snap.
How we can save this setting , so when ever we connect VC and export data by default it will export all columns.
Need ur assistance on the same.

Background:
I am trying to add an existing datastore to a VM from a NetApp SAN. The datastore is a volume clone of a NetApp snap (for instance, lets call it TL_1_013 (because that is what it is actually called 
)). A snap is taken every night and kept for 7 days. I clone the snap and call it Restore_TL_1_013, the LUN or clone of the LUN is then brought online and presented to the ESX Group setup in NetApp.
Going to VMWare and rescanning the HBA's, it knows the LUN is there and if I add storage in the normal fashion:
Select Host
Click Add Storage
Select Disk/LUN
"I choose the LUN as it is presented here"
Select Resignature
Select Ok
Select Finish
It adds it just fine, the only issue is that I want to add it using Powershell.
If I do Get-Datastore -Datacenter "My DataCenter" | where {$_.type -eq "VMFS"}
I can see other datastores I have added in the above fashion "snap-XXXXXXXX-TL_2_002", but not the one I have just created (which has not been added with the Add Storage option" above...
Any help would be appreciated...

I've got an expired ESX 5.0 host that was an evaluation, and I have since purchased vSphere and configured and installed it on a new environment with a complete san fabric array. I need to move the VM's off the expired host and onto the new hardware which is fully licensed. The only method that I can see is exporting the machines as an OVF/OVA file/package. Is this the best method? I'd rather not license a host that I'm going to decommission.
I am looking for information on configuration of the iscsi port profile on a Cisco 1000v.
The ESXi hosts are running on Dell hardware with a Dell Equallogic back end SAN/NAS.
The hosts have had the Dell MEM module loaded.
Should the "capability iscsi-multipath" option be enabled on the 1000v?
Does this integrate with the Dell MPIO component or does it provide a separate multipathing service?
Any help or direction to documents that might address this particular configuration would be appreciated.

Cleaning up after migrating VMs (Over here it deletes source VMDK file or complete folder of that VM)

I installed vCenter Web Client on one host and Active Directory(Windows 2008 R2) on another host. I was able to add the identity source successfully without any errors. However, when I log in I get the following exception on the web client:
"The authentication server returned an unexpected error: ns0:RequestFailed: Referral. The error may be caused by a malfunctioning identity source."

Not sure if i'm posting in the proper place. I have 3 esxi 5.1 servers in a cluster. I have 2 terminal server Windows 2003 x86 guests that are causing me fits. The vmtools quit spontaneously and I get the above error, (I have attached a .jpg of the error). In order to get the tools to restart, I have to stop and restart the print spooler, then restart the vmtools and they will run fine for a period of 2-5 hours and then stop again. I have googled this till i'm blue in the face and have found nothing. Some more background...esxi 5.1 servers are brand new, all my guest server OS's were previously running on an esx 4.1 cluster. I have many terminal servers running different versions, I never had any problems with any of my 2008 R2 servers doing this, but had issues with 3 other 2003 x64 servers and the way I fixed them was removing some different HP universal print drivers. I have removed these drivers from these 2 servers that are still causing me problems. I don't get any other errors, the tools stop and the OS starts behaving sluggishly which is unacceptable in my environment. Please HELP !!
I want to build 2 esxi 5.5u1 servers to begin putting together a FT and HA setup. The number of CPU's out there all with their own unique features has me second guessing myself every time I try to put an order together..
I'd like to find 2 CPU's that fully support the FT and HA features of vCenter and that cost somewhere in the $500 range.
Can anybody suggest a good performing chip that will function fully for me running ESXI 5.5U1 and vCenter 5.1?

we've got a vCenter Server (as VM - 8 cores, 16GB RAM) and running vSphere 5.1 on all hosts.
Since the upgrade to 5.1 we're using the Web Client (as recommended) - but the Web Client seems to be so much slower than the Windows Client.
Any ideas how to speed up the web client?

I'm trying to manage files and folders on vSphere Web Client but I can't do some things that I'm able to do on the vSphere Client.
First thing:
Delete folders...
Second thing:
Move a file from this datastore to another location accessible to vCenter
I have admin permission on the vCenter.

I was running vSphere 5.1 Web Client on Windows Xp.
I was able to connect USB drives on my PC to VMs via the Web Client.
When I would plug the USB drive to my Xp PC and select "Connect client device" in the Web Client, I would see the USB (Sandisk, Cruiser, etc).
After our department upgraded me to a new laptop with Windows 7, I no longer can connect USB devices to VMs.
When I plug the USB drive to my laptop and select "Connect client device" in the Web Client, I now see a list if devices but not the USB thumb drive.
The list shows,,
Connect to
Any ideas on what needs to be done to get the USB to connect to the VM?

I would like to discuss about my manual recovery plan for VC.
To achieve it I will create a new VM server and will not install VC on it.
So when I need a recovery I can install virtual center and point the database during the installation of virtual center (when installer asked about the database).
Any one see any problem in this manual recovery solution.
I know nothing of VMware and have been tasked with building a web application that retrieves data from several disparate vcenter installations. I am experiencing a bit of a data quality issue. Within VSphere I am seeing a discrepancy with regard to which GuestOS is installed. In one location (all VMs grid 2014-03-25_12-23-02.png) it shows as Windows 2008 (64 bit) and another location (VM details 2014-03-25_12-22-41.png) Windows 2008 R2 (64 bit). The latter is correct. The VPX_VM table show winLonghorn64Guest which translates to Windows 2008 (64 bit) . The VPX_VM_CONFIG_INFO also shows this value. Where is the correct data stored in the vcenter database? Any assistance is appreciated.
While browsing for some old (over a month) tasks on a cluster, I see several reconfigure cluster tasks. Unfortunately none of them describe what exactly has been reconfigured.
Is there a way to find out exactly what has been done inside that task?
