HI All,
I have a two part question. I'm running 5.1 everything. vCenter, ESXi, vCOPs, SRM etc..
I am trying to give my Developers the ability to create their own VM's. I've created a custom Role and permissioned it accordingly. When they login they can only see what they're supposed to. When they go to deploy a VM the only thing they can't do is select a Customization file. The radio button is greyed out. If they ignore the file they can deploy the VM but then have to perform the modifications manually. I've obviously missed something here, what do I need to do so they can use the customization file I've created.
FWIW - when I login as an admin everything works as it should, so I'm assuming I've missed some permission somewhere.
Part 2.
I've created a resource pool for the DEV guys and dropped all DEV boxes in their, and given them full access to manage their own DEV environment. I want to allocate their resources to the pool so they can assign as they need them, without impacting PROD. they have their own Datastores etc that they have access to and can't see any Prod Datastores or VM's.
Is a resource pool the best way to manage this or is there a better way? Any info on setting this up to use x amt of RAM & vCPU's appreciated.
Thanks
