VCenter DB as a Virtual Machine?

I currently have a standalone boot from SAN(FC) SQL Server.   It currently houses multiple VCenter databases(Server Cluster and a View Cluster), Composer Database, Events Database, and other databases.   The server cluster has a virtual VCenter and the View Cluster has a physical vCenter.  It currently resides on an old SAN that we have almost finished migrating servers off of.  I am thinking of P2V the server by running the standalone alone and sending it our DR site(still on campus but different building) and back to main site via SRM or nfs share after it has been converted to VM.    I think I would need to shut down vCenters and connection servers, is there anything else I would need to do before the operation?

More importantly, is there a downside of having the database server that houses the vCenter database and the View databases as VM?

Thanks,

Kevin
