Hi,
I installed and configured vCenter 5.1.0b with 2 Hosts (Host1 and Host2 both are ESXi 5.1). They are working fine. vCenter joined the TestDomain.local.
I added permission for a Domain User called TEST with Administrator role in the vCenter. I can login into the vCenter server with vSphere client and do every thing I need.
But if I delete the user in the domain controller, and recreate it, then delete the permission for TEST user in the vCenter and add permission again for the new TEST user in the vCenter from the TestDomain, then I can not login into the vCenter server with this error : "cannot complete login due to an incorrect username or password".
The vpxd log is:
2013-04-17T18:19:44.406+04:30 [04324 info 'commonvpxLro' opID=09651A31-00000004-97] [VpxLRO] -- BEGIN task-internal-15922 -- -- vim.SessionManager.login -- 32ad4db4-4d05-eeea-f9a1-98c6b57b7c3a2013-04-17T18:19:44.406+04:30 [04324 info '[SSO]' opID=09651A31-00000004-97] [UserDirectorySso] Authenticate(TestDomain\test, "not shown")2013-04-17T18:19:44.547+04:30 [04324 error '[SSO]' opID=09651A31-00000004-97] [UserDirectorySso] AcquireToken InvalidCredentialsException: Authentication failed: Authentication failed2013-04-17T18:19:44.547+04:30 [04324 error 'authvpxdUser' opID=09651A31-00000004-97] Failed to authenticate user <TestDomain\test>2013-04-17T18:19:49.554+04:30 [04324 info 'commonvpxLro' opID=09651A31-00000004-97] [VpxLRO] -- FINISH task-internal-15922 -- -- vim.SessionManager.login --2013-04-17T18:19:49.554+04:30 [04324 info 'Default' opID=09651A31-00000004-97] [VpxLRO] -- ERROR task-internal-15922 -- -- vim.SessionManager.login: vim.fault.InvalidLogin:--> Result:--> (vim.fault.InvalidLogin) {--> dynamicType = <unset>,--> faultCause = (vmodl.MethodFault) null,--> msg = "",--> }--> Args:-->2013-04-17T18:19:55.326+04:30 [03800 info 'commonvpxLro' opID=HB-host-580@9331-ab9ee8d8] [VpxLRO] -- BEGIN task-internal-15923 -- host-580 -- VpxdInvtHostSyncHostLRO.Synchronize --
I renamed the user name TEST to TEST1 and problem fixed.
I can login with any other users which have proper permission into the vCenter server.
any idea?
