I will need to join an esxi 5.1 cluster to an exisiting esx 4.0 cluster and will need to migrate all virtual machines from the old vcenter 4.0 to the new vcenter 5.1.
I was planning on creating the vcenter 5.1 environment ( network, storage, etc ) using the linked mode option and then vmotioning all the guests from the old esx 4.0 environment over to the new 5.1 environment.
Besides backing up the vCenter db - I do not think I would have any other complications, please advise.
