Not enough space for deleting all snapshots

Hi all,

ESX4.1U3

my LUN has 500GB, partition inside VM has 150GB filled with 140GB of data, thin provisioning. I had too many snapshots made on this virtual machine, so I decided to consolidate them into one with Delete all snaphots option in Snapshot manager.

But, what I had not realized, was that I dont have enough space for this operation. The file which is being created right now has 84GB, vCenter shows that 74GB is free.

So my quesion is:

1) What will be the final size of this file ? (150GB or 140GB? even more?)

2) What could happen if the operation will not end successfully because there will be not enough space ? Should I be concerned that my VM will be corrupted?

Veeam was planned to be implemented next week...
