Snapshot referencing old DVD ISO file.

I have two machines which are both in a similar state.

They have both been storage vMotioned onto a new datastore yet they are both still holding onto the old datastore as well as the new. Both the machines have one snapshot each which I need to keep. After some digging I've managed to find the issue and I'm wondering if anybody here knows of a solution.

The hard disk files and snapshot files have migrated to the new target datastore as planned however when the original snapshots were created there was an attached DVD ISO to the machine. This ISO lived on the old datastore and because of this the snapshot is still holding onto the old datastore.

I need to keep the snapshot yet need to remove the DVD ISO reference from the snapshot so I can remove the datastore.

I managed to find this information out from looking inside the snapshot VMSN file with notepad and noticing the two lines below. I believe this file is a binary file and I'm worried that changing those two lines will corrupt my VM.

ide1:0.deviceType = "cdrom-image"

ide1:0.fileName = "/vmfs/volumes/cd88a787-7507e72e/Vmimages/en_windows_server_2012_x64_dvd_915478.iso"

Thanks

Matt
