I kicked my vCenter server out of network

Hello Everybody,

I have a vcenter 5.1 server running as a VM (win2k8R2). We have all the VMs on distributed switch. I had to upgrade the vnic on vcenter server vm from E1000 to VMXNET3. I made a mistake by removing the existing nic first before adding the new nic. Now I am not able to bring the vcenter VM back on the network. The NIC that I added stays disconnected and does not see any portgroup which we select in the drop down to choose the network for VM.

I think it is because VDS is managed by vcenter itself and since vcenter is out of the network, it does not show any portgroups on VDS which I can connect to.

All I can think is that I will have to add a new nic on the host and create a VSS and add vcenter vm there first and then transfer it over to VDS. But I don't have any nic now. It is in production

Any suggestions how to add vcenter back to VDS?

Thanks - AG
