Two vCenter Servers and shared storage

Hi All,

Is it possible to have two vCenter environment, vCenter 5.1 and vCenter 5.5 and each vcenter has two esxi hosts vCenter 5.1 has 5.1 esxi host and vCenter 5.5 has esxi hosts.

All four hosts accessing same shared storage (SAN).

Hosts from different vCenter accessing shared storage will corrupt VMs on storage?
