Hi,
I am running a Vmware server in a testlab managed by a vCenter 6.0 (testlab) server.
Yesterday the machine running the vCenter server unexpectedly got shut down because of a power failure.
Now, when rebooting the vCenter server, vCenter services are not starting anymore.
After a little research I believe to have narrowed the problem down to the Inventory Service not starting because of a corrupt inventory service database.
A little more research brought to some article of Vmware telling me how to restore or reset the database to be able to start the service again.
However, none of these article actually are helping me since they do not correctly apply to vCenter 6.0
Is there anyone experiencing the same problem and were you able to fix it?
As far as I understand, the script that should recreate the inventory service database is not running on my system correctly (Windows Server 2012 R2). Every time I try to run it, I receive a message telling me "The syntax of the command is incorrect".
I believe some parameters in the .bat file are incorrect, but don't know enough about it to correct it.
I could just reïnstall vCenter, but I believe the script should somehow run too. Especially interesting since this could also happen to one of our customers...
Kind regards,
Francis Claessens
