How is everyone managing vm sprawl and grouping systems together by owner. I have a few thousand vm's that have been created over the years and unfortunately support staff has not been following guidelines for creating, documenting, and placing systems into pre-defined folders based upon business units in our company. (VM and Templates View) It's a real mess trying to track down owners of systems and what applications are running on them due to poor naming and lack of information in the notes field. I am trying to figure out the best approach to put a stop to this and clean up what we currently have. I wanted to hear what everyone else is doing to maintain vm guests. Thanks.
