In a previous role I have added a custom field to all VM's such as 'Backup', defaulted to Yes and then used Symantec NetBackup to query/target VM's based on that value. This was beneficial because when using the console at a glance you could tell what was excluded/included for backup.
Currently I am using Veeam 7, and have evaluated Veeam 8 which allows targeting by Tags which is great. However, tags are a) only viewable in the web client it seems and b) are hidden away in their own section or only visible if you enter the summary of a VM.
I have messed around with the GUI/columns but cannot see the functionality to add a Tags column to the overview. I feel this would be very useful to see as I and others will be able to determine which VM's are excluded without having to look into the Veeam exclusion list.
If this is not currently possible I would love to request it in a future release.
