is it possible to commit snapshot file to VM and make it up ?

Hi friends,

I have a VM installed with centOS and zimbra mail server. ;last we We got issue with hence we created a SNAPSHOT fil and worked on it and resolved the issue instead of work in .vmdk.

Now I want to commit this snapshot file to VM. Is it possible ?

and my doubt is, If we commit snapshot file to VM? The data will be up to date ?

and I want clarify on delta-vmdk & .vmdk. ( how to identify snapshot file ) and whats the difference btwn *.vmsn & delta.vmdk

Kindly help on how to commit snapshot file to VM and how to sync that up to date with out data loss.
