Hi All!
I'm trying to update the VCSA 5.1 to 5.5 following KB 2058441. VCSA uses a external database (Oracle).
All process happens as described on KB 2058441, but, in the end there is a error that I think is related to database upgrade.
As you can see during the process is possible to acquire all oracle information, but, I don't know why the ugrade process is unable to pass the DB type in dbcupgrade command. (follow parts of VCSA 5.5 upgrade.log file)
#Database options
VC_DB_TYPE=oracle
VC_DB_SERVER=oracle.server.customer.com.br
VC_DB_SERVER_PORT=1521
VC_DB_INSTANCE=geopmpa
VC_DB_USER=customer_db_user
VC_DB_PASSWORD='password hash'
The following error is showed in the end of upgrade.log file.
ERROR: Invalid DB type in configuration: ' '
Usage: dbcupgrade [-p <password>] [-t <DB type>] [-u <user name>] [-d <dsn>] [-y] [-k [<days>|all|none]]
Optional parameters:
-p: DB password. Default: empty string.
-t: DB type: oracle|PostgreSQL
-u: DB user name. Default: vc
-d: Data Source Name. Default 'VMware VirtualCenter'
-y: Enable non-interactive mode.
-k: Keep performance data data.
2014-12-23 18:14:38+00:00 *** ERROR: Failed to upgrade the database! ***
Oracle version: 11g 11.2.0.3.0 64bit
VCSA version: 5.5 Update 2b build 2183109
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks.
Best,
Eduardo.
