We have an IBM xseries x3550 server running ESXi 5.5 U2 attached via 1GB copper to an Infortrend/Aberdeen SAN solution. It has worked fine, but over the holidays (11/29) the Hosts lost all datastores/LUNs, including paths. Since then, we have worked with VMware and Infortrend, neither have provided a solution thus far. I desperately need the datastores/LUNS back as they contain important data. I have tried doing vmkping from the Host interface to the 8 SAN interfaces, and this works. I have deleted the iSCSI initiators in the Infortrend software on the SAN (which uses the host iqn) and I was able to recreate them without a problem. I have deleted and re-added the dynamic and static discovery for the SAN (using the SAN iqns), without an issue. If you do a re-scan of the iSCSI adapter in VMware, no error and it completes the scan, but no datastores/paths/LUNS. You can access the Infrotrend software and see the LUNS on the SAN, and there are no error messages in the SAN log. Plugging the ethernet directly from the SAN to the HOST does nothing, still cannot see datastores/LUNs on the host, even after rescan. Host ip is 10.10.10.30 and SAN interfaces are 10.10.10.1-10.10.10.8. I have attached the vmkernel.log file for review.
Any assistance would be forever appreciated, I really need help as I am unsure how to proceed with troubleshooting effectively.
