Incessant "Number of connections has changed" bar refuses to be dismissed from console

So this has been a pain in the butt as long as I've used Vsphere, but I'm testing 5.5 getting ready to upgrade, and if anything this behaviour has become much worse.

Here's the scenario:

I fire up the Vsphere Client and connect to Vcenter server.

I right click on one of the VMs and choose open console.

The console window comes up and quickly a yellow bar with the "number of connections has changed" message pops up claiming there are 2.

I switch back to the main Client window and confirm that the Console tab is NOT selected, it is on the Summary tab. and confirm that I am the only user logged onto the system.

I switch back to the console window, and click the little x to dismiss the yellow bar, it goes away.

I click back into the console window and it immediately pops back saying there is one connection, then disappears for an instant then pops back claiming 2 connections again.  It cannot be dismissed, it will do this over and over.

Now this would be a minor annoyance, except when you are working in the command line in the console, it starts at the top of the screen, and the yellow bar covers the top row of text, so you literally can't see what you're typing.  So I hit return a few times to push it down below the yellow bar, but every time I start a new console window or clear the terminal i'm back to not being able to see the command line of the terminal I'm in.  It's very very frustrating.

To me the yellow bar is completely worthless.  There is only one user, me.  I can see that it might be valuable to others in different environments, but it is nothing but a time-wasting pain in the ass in mine.

We really, really need to be able to dismiss that bar permanently for a whole session. or something like that.  The way it works now is a constant frustrating annoyance, for absolutely no benefit that I can see.

If anyone has any way to get rid of it, I'd love to know.

Best regards,
