Hi @ all,
I have the following problem:
On a Windows Server 2012 R2 is the whole vCenter 5.5 system installed on my local LAN (10.0.0.0/24) with the IP 10.0.0.9. The default gateway for this vCenter Server is my router with the IP 10.0.0.2. Inside this network I have one ESXi 5.5 host at 10.0.0.10. This host works fine in my vCenter server system. Infront of this LAN I have a seperatet GUEST LAN (10.10.0.0/24). My guest router has a static WAN address and the internal IP 10.10.0.1. The second router has the IP 10.10.0.2 and 10.0.0.2. Both routers are configured correctly, so they redirect all incomming TCP and UDP ports to my vCenter System on 10.0.0.9.
Now I have lent two root servers with public IPs. I want to add the two root server hosts to my vCenter system behind the two NATs. After a view moments the root server hosts disconnected automatically. I have tried to fix this problem by using the knowlege base article "Using NAT between the vCenter Server system and ESXi/ESX hosts (1010652)".
During the reconnect proccess the host IP chances to the local IP from my second router (10.0.0.2) and vSphere Web Client can't connect to the server. The same happens, if I remove first the host from the inventory and add it again by using the root server IP. If I use the FQDN of my root server to add the host to my inventory then the connection works fine. But if I want to clone a VM or using the Update Manager, the system said that the host is not found or unreachable. Could anyone have an idea what happens and how to fix this problem?
