I running the following:
ESXi 5 Enterprise Plus
Vcenter standard
Windows 2008 R2 Domain Controller DHCP enabled
11 Linux physical workstations
When I reboot my 11 linux machines, inevitably 1 or more machines will fail to receive a DHCP address. I then have to "service network restart" the workstations which failed to obtain a DHCP address.
I do use reservations for all 11 machines and the MAC addresses are correct and only using option DHCP and not BOOTP.
Has anyone seen this behavior with a virtual domian controller running DHCP? This issue never happened when we had a physical domain controller, only when we switched to virtual did the intermittent issue with some machines not getting DHCP address start occuring.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
