We have a VMwaer vSphere 5.5 environment where the hosts are provisioned through VMware autodeploy.
Deploying new hosts isn't working for some reason.
The PXE boot process is working fine, the tramp file is loaded from the tftp server (you see also the line with a url pointing to the autodeploy server )
But after that you see dots
.....
The firewall on the server is not active.
OS : Windows 2008 R2
VMware vSphere 5.5
I've follwed the checks on the KB article VMware KB: Troubleshooting vSphere Auto Deploy
And the checks were succesfulll
The communication in the boot process of the host is working. (PXE boot)
I've made a network trace for TCP traffic on port 6501, and I see that there is some activity between the autodeploy host and the autodeploy server.
Already deployed hosts are booting fine, because they are configured with stateless caching. But I can't redploy them with a new image.
I can't find anything in logs about this situation, and google isn't my friend at the moment (maybe I lack creativity in search terms )
How can I check is the autodeploy service is treaming the content for a vSphere host ??
Anyone else familiar with this problem ? (and solved it ?)
