Newbie question: How can I increase RAM for a virtual vcenter machine?

Hi all,

I'm really new at vmware. So, excuse if my question seems to be stupid.

A customer has 2 ESX Server Hosting some virtual machines.

As I could see I have to shutdown the virtual machine first to allocate some more RAM.

I can do the allocation by the vsphere Client on the vcenter virtual machine.

But how can I allocate more ressources to the vcenter machine itself? When I shutdown the machine I have no way to manage the allocation.

Is it possible to do it on the ESX machine?

Can anyone Support me with a Whitepaper or some other instructions?

Thanks and best regard,

Chris
