vCenter 5.1 renaming doesn't work

Hello,

I've tried to do a little experiment before trying it on a production server:

I have created a new (virtual) vCenter server in order to rename it.

I've checked online how to do it step by step:

first, I edited the vcenter server name inside the application, under runtime settings.

second, I changed 2 to values in the Advanced Settings (VirtualCenter.FQDN and VirtualCenter.InstanceName).

Then, I changed the value of VCInstanceID in the registry.

After that, I've updated the dns and the server's name normally in the system properties.

Exept that, I've updated all the needed settings in my instance  (mssql).

After all that, my vcenter server doesn't work.

The issue is that the Vmware VirtualCenter Server service doesn't start.

The error is:

"Windows could not start the Vmware VirtualCenter server on local computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error 2."

I've checked the event viewer and there is no information in it.

I event uninstalled the sso and the inventory service and it doesn't work, and I've searched for solutions online and nothing worked for me.

PLEASE HELP!

Thank you so so much!
