I've gotten a warning that one of my swap files datastore is getting full, which lead to an interesting thought I've had..
Why not enable datastore cluster for swap files location?
Instead of me, as an administrator to monitor and handle the locations of all the hosts and the destined datastores,
where my environment gets larger (new hosts are connected on a weekly basis and new vms are created on a daily basis),
this will allow more automated control over the swap files locations.
An alternative is maybe creating a new object called "Swap files datastore" in which works just like the datastore cluster but is treated differently, it'll be unique and its only matter would be handling the swap files.
Secondly, can anyone give me the advantages and disadvantages of saving the swap files on a local datastore?
Despite slowing vMotion, does it somehow affect DRS? or SDRS? Any info would be great.
