Hi,
We have a pool with about 150 systems that has a random disconnect while user logged in. They can't reconnect and if they do it will only be a black screen with the cursor showing. We have them log on in the console using the Vsphere client. They can then close the programs and log out. Often there is a pop-up error such as a program fault or an rdeServer error.
When we refresh the pools on the weekend this prevents a re-occurrence until late in the following week - often late on Thursday or Friday. After the weekend refresh the cycle repeats.
The disconnects are random and there are only about 2 or 3 a week. If we don't refresh then they occur at the beginning of the week and more often.
I realize that there are other factors at play that may have a combined affect rather than one basic cause. Our other smaller VDI view pools with more resources don't experience this problem and if we move a user into one of these it doesn't re-occur. We can't increase resources for our largest pool and don't have the resources to transfer too many users into other pools.
Yes, we have SEP (Symantec Endpoint Protection). What enterprise can disable their anti-virus?
We have been working with VMware Support who have been diligent in working with us on the problem. Haven't seen a lot of info on the forums or online in general.
Has anyone else been experiencing this. We are using Wyse zero clients with the latest firmware. Settings on the pool are 1 CPU and core, 2 monitors with 64 MB assigned memory, 2 GB memory. About 110 VMs in play at a time.
I can supply more information but for now am looking for history, etc.
Thanks for any info especially others who have experienced this.
