Guest OS selection during VM creation, discrepancies in posible selections

Attempting to deploy a new Windows Server 2012 VM while connected to our vCenter Server via the vSpere client..

I get to the guest OS selection and click the Windows radio button, then expand the drop down list.  At the top of the list is Windows Server 8 (64bit).  Windows Server 2012 is not in the list.

I then connect directly to one of our ESXi hosts via the vSphere client and go through the same process to deploy the Win2012 Server VM.  At the guest OS selection page I again click Windows and expand the drop down box.  At the top of this list is Windows Server 2012 (64bit).

So, is there a way to be able to populate Windows Server 2012 in that list when connected to vCenter?

We are running...

vCenter Server 5.0 U1a (build  755629)

vSphere Client 5.0.0 (build 913577)

ESXi 5.0 U2 (build 914586)

thanks,

Dan
