Hi There,
This topic was touched on in this link here
... It is an older post, but I am trying to do the same thing. I have an OVA file that was converted to a VMX....The file contains 3 volumes.
I am using vCenter Converter 5.5.1. When I open the VMX file to convert I can see in the source details that it recognises those 3 volumes, but when I go to the "Data to copy" section, the option to "Select Volumes to copy" isn't available...the link I am referring to suggests that you should be able to select the volumes that you want to convert to VMDKs, but I am not seeing that functionality available in vCenter. It looks like there should (or used to be at some point) the option to individually select volumes to export. Has anyone else had any experience trying to split volumes on a single VMX to their own separate VMDKs? Does the source VMX/OVA need to be created in such a way that would allow the volumes to be extracted individually?
Thanks in advance.
John Scott.
