I was wondering if there is a mechanism that is straight out of the box in vSphere 5 that will allow me to receive email alerts for certain events that the standard alerts and events built dont cater for.
an exmaple would be I would like to receive an email daily for any VMs in our environment which still have snapshots, as we use a third party backup solution, if for some reason the backup fails we find occasionally that it doesnt remove the snapshot and it would be useful if I could get alerted in the morning about this.
if anyone has any ideas on this example it would be most appreciated. The in built alerts doesnt cater for this issue.
