We've been using vSphere centrally for a couple of years now and looking to extend this out to our 29 retail offerings. These will be small, similar (if not identical) setups, 1 host with 4 VMs. Wondered if anyone could provide an insight on how best to achieve this with a certain level of automation? We have been using templates with a vCenter script to great effect, is the process just the same if the Central vCenter is managing the ROBO host? Given these are not high bandwidth link it feels like the template should be held locally? Can this be made part of a scripted ESXi install so that it's there waiting in the local datastore?
Am I on the right track here?
Appreciate any pointers or advice from anyone who's done anything similar?
