Hello Everyone,
At this time, I have a relatively small environment with 4 hosts in our corporate location in the USA and two hosts in a second location in Europe. I am finding that the number of VM's running in our Europe environment is growing more and more. I have been actively weighing the merits of adding a vCenter Server Appliance to our environment in Europe. I have a few questions that I hope are simple which you can help with. If you find it best that I examine documentation for my answers, links to the documentation would be quite helpful!
- If I add a vCenter Server Appliance to our VMWare Cluster in Europe, does it connect to the vCenter Database running in our corporate location? Or, would the vCenter Appliance simply manage the cluster in our European office location?
- If the answer to 1 above is that the vCenter appliance will only manage the cluster in Europe, does that mean that I will only be able to see one environment at a time when I open my vSphere client?
- Does the vCenter Appliance require another vCenter License?
