vApps, Inventory and Scheduled Tasks

I appreciate the fact that grouping similar virtual machines (in terms of functions, etc) using a vApp is something better than grouping them inside a folder. However, the only disadvantages I see are

1. I cannot see the virtual machines in the inventory unless I look at the Hosts and Clusters from the vSphere Client
2. I cannot create a scheduled task for a specific virtual machine inside a vApp

Any thoughts?

I'm using VMware vCenter version 5 on ESXi 5.
