We have an older program running on a Windows 2000 Pro machine and it's started showing signs of failing. I have an XP machine I can put in its place but don't have the installation media for the program it's running. I contacted the company and all they want to do is charge me $1000 for the new version and I can't find the old program anywhere online. I need to convert this Windows 2000 Pro machine to a VM (for free) and somehow install it (again, for free) on the XP machine I have to take its place. We have a small network and haven't needed to do any VMs yet so this is a first for me (you can see we're also a little behind the times tech-wise.) Can someone help me out with where to start or what I should do? Thanks so much in advance!
