vCenter 5.5 appliance setup - Web setup unavailable

I've installed a new ESXi 5.5 server and a 5.5 vCenter appliance in my lab, along with a Win7 laptop.  I've got networking setup on the appliance and can ping the vCenter appliance from the laptop and the ESXi host, but can not connect the browser to the configuration site (https://hostname:5480).  I assume there is a service that didn't start when the appliance booted up?  Thoughts on how to resolve this?
