I had a strane problem with one of our costumers. After the change of an expired vCenter 5.1 certificate, we can't get the Web Client to work again. When you login to the Web Client, the inventory is completely empty and the Home tab stats to register the Web Client with a vCenter or install vCenter. If we use the fat client, the inventory is displayed just fine. There are no errors in the vCenter Service Status, no errors in the Windows Event log of vCenter, no errors in the Web Client log.
What we did was:
- Reinstall the Web Client with removal of all left over folders after the uninstallation
- Reregister the Web Client with the Inventory Service with GUI and the repoint script
- Recreation of the SSO Web Client Application User
- Permission Check
- New Web Client certificate
- Different browsers
- Different Users
- Check of the VCMSDS SSL Port 636
We have vCenter 5.1 U1.
Does anyone have any futher ideas about this topic?
